Anna is a designer and weaver known for her creative flare that fuses
traditional Māori weaving techniques with a contemporary innovative style. In
2013 she graduated from Te Wānanga o Aotearoa with a Bachelor of Māori Art, majoring in raranga. Since then, she has become a life member of Toi Iho, and exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions, nationally and internationally.

Drawing inspiration from the natural world of Aotearoa, her work honours
ancestral knowledge while applying it to modern objects like surfboard bags,
guitar cases, wearable pieces and fashion accessories. Anna grows the NZ
native plants she weaves with, including harakeke, tī kōuka and pīngao. Her
work is rooted in a deep connection to the land and the knowledge passed
down from ancestors and master weavers.

In 2025 she was the inaugural winner of Te Tohu Toi Rākei Award, World of Wearable Art. Judges Karl Chitham (Te Uriroroi, Ngā Puhi) and Isaac Te Awa (Ngāpuhi, Kāti Māmoe, Kai Tahu, Waitaha) commented that her entry stood out for “elevating traditional materials and techniques with exquisite attention to detail. The incorporation of whakapapa and pūrākau transforms the work from something familiar to something extraordinary “.
